Veenix Software announced today the release of version 6 of Font Tools, a set of Mac OS X tools for previewing, cataloging/printing and managing fonts. The new release adds the Document Font Activator and Exporter tool. This tool allows users to scan documents for font usage and then quickly activate all the necessary document fonts as well as export them for project archiving or final output. Supported file types include native Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop and InDesign files, as well as generic pdf, tif and eps files. Other files types can be scanned using a process known as "scouting" which employs the user's font database as search criteria when scanning a document.
