Digital asset management pioneer iView Multimedia Ltd. today launched a survey designed to answer the question: "What are the most pressing concerns of professional photographers as they embrace digital media?" The first part of the research was conducted at PMA 2005.
The survey was only open to PMA attendees. iView's research will garner opinions from photographers and the industries that support them, such as camera manufacturers, press bureaus, software providers, etc. All participants will be entered into a prize draw for a copy of the award winning iView MediaPro to be held on the last day of the conference.
"iView was built on customer feedback," said Yan Calotychos, founder of iView. "That's why our flagship product iView MediaPro is as flexible and user friendly as it is, and why it's recommended by professional photographers worldwide. The results of our research will inform and influence our ongoing product development, and offer even more insight into the needs of our customers."
The initial survey's three main objectives are to discover:
- what is considered to be digital photography's biggest advantage;
- what is considered to be digital photography's biggest challenge;
- what photographers believe they need to save time, to be more creative, to be more profitable and to improve the quality of their work.
iView will publish the results of the PMA 2005 survey on its Web site (http://www.iview-multimedia.com/) the week of March 7, 2005.
iView plans to supplement the survey with further research conducted online, in focus groups, and via other research efforts throughout 2005. The results of each element of the research will be consolidated, analyzed and reported in future announcements.
