Sinking to a new low...

I actually gasped when I read the chainsaw story. Mr. McNally's smirking disregard for destruction of a tree, let alone one on Park Service land, to create a shot that is kitschy at best and is no doubt is currently taking up space in landfills, is really breathtaking. I'm curious that Creative Pro seems to laud these actions by reprinting this yahoo's brags. Mightily disappointing on the part of all concerned.

Indeed, shameful

We should contact nps.gov and http://corporate.discovery.com/public/parks.html to alert them to this stupidity. I see no point in ever hiring McNally for this type of work. Perhaps we will need photographs to preserve the memory of our natural resources thanks to jackass photographers that abuse and destroy them!

It would be wise for CreativePro to pull this article. Simply editing out the 'chainsaw' section is not enough. The article still promotes a book by a knucklehead.

Photography Secrets from One of the World's Top Shooters

Let me get this right: Mr. McNally went to a national park, located a tree, "made sure no park rangers were around," and then "chainsawed the $#!& out of it." What was he thinking? He obviously knew it was against the law. Does he plan on giving a generous donation to the National Parks Service for his destructive and self-serving actions? Shame on him and shame on CreativePro.
